    1948 Los Angeles Rams Type Leather Football Helmet. Rams were the first college or NFL Team to put an emblem on their helmets, when Tailback Fred Gehrke got the idea to paint the horns on this type of leather helmet. In 1949 the NFL switched to a hard shell type helmet.  This is a rare and hard to find helmet and the leather is in exceptionally good condition inside and out, and will make a nice display piece for you to paint and finish like an original.
