    Description

    Antique Mettlach Beaker

    Violin Player

    Mold #2327
    Decoration # 1023
    ¼ Liter
I have collected beer steins and glasses for over 50 years. Now it is time to downsize a bit, so here is an antique Mettlach beaker (“Becher” in German) with a violin player wearing a feathered hat.
    The German text is
    “Musik & Bier Lieben wir”
which translates as “We love Music and Beer”.
    The beaker is
    ¼ liter
    capacity,
    5 inches
    tall and
    2¾ inches
    wide at the rim.
    Condition:
The beaker is in MINT condition. It has no flakes, flea bites, chips, hairlines, cracks, crazing or staining. The interior is a milky white. There are a couple of places inside where a thin line of glaze is missing
    (factory flaw).
    .
    Markings:
The Mercury mark is stamped in green along with “MADE IN GERMANY”. The decoration number (1023) and GESCHUTZT (protected) are stamped in black. The mold number (2327) and year code are not present.
