-You are ordering this lot of 5 stoneware, 1/2 Liter beer steins which were purchased as part of a larger lot from a retired Air Force Veteran.
-These were souvenirs he picked up in Germany during Cold War & Gulf War Era deployments to Germany with the US Military.
-The 4 steins are from the annual 36th Tactical Fighter Wing, Bitburg Bash Festival, held in downtown Bitburg, Germany, a city famous for production of Bitbrug beer.  These steins represent the 23rd annual (1987), 25th annual (1989), 27th annual (1991), and 28th annual (1992) festivals. (credit to eBay user Bitburg525 for assisting with the history of this yearly festival). The 1992 stein was the last year the festival was held before President Clinton closed the Airbase. It ran for 47 consecutive years.
-There was a US Military base in proximity to Bitburg which is now closed and repurposed.
-The other stein was a presentation gift from Norwegian Royal Air Force to the former owner for appreciation for mutual training.
-This lot would appeal to anyone with ties to the Air Force, Germany, Breweriana collectibles from events in Germany, or who attended these conferences.
-First reasonable offer will be accepted to find these a new home where they can be displayed and appreciated.
