    This is a nice old pottery stein from germany.
    It has a nice relief of a man in German attire learning his ABC's while other older people look on drinking beer and smoking a pipe.
    The background is cobalt blue color.
    In German it says "Die vater haven uno gelehrt wie man die volley humpen leert".
    This roughly translates to " The father has taught us how to clear the full beakers"
    It is stamped Western Germany #843 and the size 5 Liters in the bottom.
    This is an unusually tall stein measuring 19-1/2" tall and 7" diameter at the bottom.
