Description

This is the big one. 77mm base, 75mm top plate, 115 mm tall (including top plate) weighs 37 oz. (a bit over 1 Kg.).
This has a separate panning lock and a friction adjustment on the ball to make it as movable as you want, all the way from completely loose, to dead tight. Not sure exactly how it works, but when you are adjusting the tension on the ball, there is a lot of "throw" to the adjustment, not something where it suddenly goes from tight to loose. Very handy when you need to tweak your camera angle just a little.
Linhof data sheet rates it to support 10 Kg. (22 lbs.), though I actually think it would do more than that with the weight centered.
Top plate is reversible (see photos) for 1/4" or 3/8" camera base.
The bottom of this is 3/8". I will include a 3/8" stud (see photo) which is what fits most pro tripod legs, but if you need to mount this head to 1/4" on the base, the adapter for that is available at any large camera store, and probably at hardware stores as well.
This is overkill for my Nikon D3300 system, but if I was going to keep it I would probably put a good quick release on it.
