  • Condition: Some damage on all the steins. Three of the steins have some chipping on the bottom. The finials are bent on the lid on all the steins and there are other bends on the lids. The green stein has a break where the lid is attached to the handle. They have not been cleaned. May have some dust and staining in places.     Description

    This is a Lot of 4 Vintage Poth's Beer Miniature Lidded
    German Beer Steins. Circa 1930s or earlier. Very Rare.
    The steins are 5 1/4" tall and 1 5/8" in diameter at the bottom.
    The Lids are made of Pewter. They are soft and have various dents.
    Poth's Beer was started in 1863 by Frederick A. Poth, a German
    immigrant, in Philadelphia. By 1875, F. A. Poth and Sons was one
    of the largest breweries in the US. It's Brewery operations were
    shut down during Prohibition from 1920 to 1933. It resumed
    operations as Poth Brewing Co., Inc. in 1933 but could not return
    to it's previous status and declared bankruptcy in 1936.
    Pictured on the steins are two German soldiers who fought in
    the 30 Years' War. Johann Tserclaes, Count von Tilly, was a Bavarian
    general and Albrecht von Wallenstein was a Bohemian military
    commander.
    Even in their condition, these steins make a great display and
    conversation pieces for your bar or Man Cave.
