Description
This vintage wooden-handle vegetable peeler/apple corer was made by A & J, probably in the late 1940s or early 1950s. It has a wooden handle with a knob to facilitate a steady gripe. Stamped on the serrated blade is "Stainless Steel" and "A & J, Made in the United States of America." The peeler blade is located on top of the corer which has a serrated edge and a smooth edge. There is no paint or varnish left on the handle due to wear. It measures 6 1/2 inches long, with a blade length of 3 1/2". Although it appears, from the picture, that a nail is missing, it is not missing. Further, since it is Stainless Steel there is no rust. This would be a great vintage kitchen utensil to display in a Mid Century Retro Kitchen. The green-handle peeler-corer is not available.
