Rare Villeroy & Boch Mettlach #2327/1200 State of Indiana beaker

Description

This is a Villeroy & Boch Mettlach #2327/1200 PUG (print under glaze) beaker made in Germany. The number 2327 represents the style of beaker and 1200 refers to the design, this one representing the
State of Indiana
. The numbers 2327 and 1200 are either impressed or printed on the bottom along with the company logo. Typically the year and often a quality control number are also punched in and represented by two numbers, e.g. 05 for the year 1905 and 31 for the quality control number. Often when the glaze was applied heavily at the factory, the markings on the bottom are hard to read. It measures 5” tall and typically, these beakers have a line on the outside with ¼ L impressed into the side meaning that when filled to the line the volume is ¼ liter.
This beaker is free of chips or flea bites and hairlines or cracks and stains, but does have some light crazing
. This is a scarce/rare beaker that I've only seen once which is this one I'm selling.
