This is a nice old stoneware beer stein with cobalt glaze from Germany.
It is a stein witha figural castle stoneware lid with a
    thumbrest.
It has a woman with a dragon at her feet and is titled "Jung Frau from Drachenfels".
PROSIT is embossed under her feet.
The handle is open twisted tree limbs. There are hops and wheat incorporated into the lower border.
In the banner there are words embossed which translate roughly to:
"Lord, protect me from the dragon's tooth, not made for pagan madness. Steal the monster and believe that she holds the cross in front of him. As soon as he sees it, he flees from her. The Dragon and the heathen crossed."
The point of one of the peaks on the castle lid is chipped.
    Please see photos.
It is embossed #766 GERMANY in the bottom.
