Vintage German Marzi Remy Stein Sports Memory 1970 Soccer World Cup Qualifying

Engraved on top of lid - 'WM Spiel Deutschland : österreich 10.5.1969 Stadt Nürnberg'  - translation - World Cup Match Germany vs Austria in the City of Nuremberg. The date indicates this was a qualifying round of the wildly popular 1970 World Cup. This is round shaped cobalt blue color city scape design - made by Marzi & Remy. There are street / city scenes of
Nürnberg (
Nuremberg) on the front and back. No way of telling whether the stein is older than 1969 - and just engraved in 1969 to celebrate the World Cup trials. But, we do know the stein is at least 50 years old because of the engraving.
This is 4 1/2 inches tall measured to the rim (
measurement
does not include lid), and the stein is about 6 inches wide (the width measurement includes the handle). This large stein weighs 1 pound, 10 ounces.
