    Vintage Spalding Bros. Leather Football Helmet and Shoulder Pads pat. date 1916 on shoulder pads.
    Patent date as shown in photo, I believe these are from the 1930’s, at least that’s what the helmet appears to be to me. Leather is supple and the name PEDDIE is carved into the leather on top. Maybe a player’s name or nickname or perhaps the college in New Jersey. I dunno.
