VINTAGE WESTMORELAND MILK GLASS HEN ON NEST SPLIT TAIL
Up for auction is a Westmoreland milk glass hen on nest with red painted comb & eyes.  Both top and bottom pieces are marked with a W over a G for Westmoreland Glass; this particular mark was in use between late 1949 - 1984.  The piece measures 5 1/2 " at widest length of oval basket x 4 1/4" wide at narrow part of basket, and 4 3/4" tall with hen top resting on basket bottom. The tail is a split tail and the detail of the feathers & basket weave is very clear and is also on the bottom of the basket.
This hen is adorable and in very good vintage condition.
There are no chips, cracks or dings and the milk glass is very white. The hand painted red paint on the head of the hen is in excellent condition with no worn spots.
She will make a beautiful addition to a milk glass collection or to enhance a country kitchen theme!
